1) Emails usually don't work when transferring sound files. Basically sound files are too big for most email systems, in addition file transfer is completely insecure with email. If you see a transcription website stating email is their preferred method of clients sending files - be cautious!
2) iphone, Android apps etc. No need!....... Even the cheapest mobile phone (£5) has a facility to voice record. Simply record on your mobile the usual way and upload files securely via the web.
3) SECURITY...
#"Email" = not secure, period.
#"SSL Upload button" on a website = secure transit only one way, the transcribed document is emailed back (therefore not secure).
#"We have a secure server" *ehem*, yes a lot of the larger transcription companies claim this, however do they have a secure ISP ;p Their ISP can access any server they want at any time...interesting thought.
# "Our secretaries use a web based platform and therefore they can not save any documents on their home computers"........what was that , a flying pig ? .....try pressing the key between F12 and Scroll lock when a "secure" word doc is open :)
The answer....................
